Intel Raptor Lake Refresh See Moderate Price Bump Over 13th-Gen

Premature product listings by Canada Computers resulted in the publication of leaked Canadian prices for 14th-generation Intel Core processors. When compared to their 13th-gen predecessors, these prices show moderate increases ranging from 0% to 7% in the Manufacturer’s Suggested Retail Prices (MSRPs) for important models such as the Core i5-14600K/KF, Core i7-14700K/KF, and Core i9-14900KF.

The 14th-generation Intel Raptor Lake Refresh processors are on the way, with an official debut date of October 17. This publication concludes a string of leaks and rumors that have revealed data such as performance, specifications, and even product packaging. However, given that the Raptor Lake Refresh is still two weeks away, it’s probable that additional information will continue to leak.

In this regard, the prospective price for 14th-generation Intel processors has just surfaced, courtesy of listings by Canadian store Canada Computers. We have an image of the product listings due to VideoCardz, which appears to have been removed afterward.

According to Canada Computers, the Core i9-14900KF costs CAD779, the Core i7-14700K costs CAD589, and the Core i7-14700KF costs CAD549. Meanwhile, the Core i5-14600K and 14600KF are the most affordable options, starting at roughly CAD449 and CAD399, respectively.

Based on the current CAD/USD exchange rate, the US pricing is as follows:

  • Core i9-14900KF: $572.35
  • Core i7-14700K and 14700KF: $432.75 and $403.36, respectively.
  • Core i5-14600K and 14600KF: $329.89 and $293.15, respectively.

According to VideoCardz, the Intel Raptor Lake Refresh pricing reflects a 0-7% rise over the CAD prices of the 13th-generation Raptor Lake chips.

When comparing the current Raptor Lake CPU prices in the US market, we see some marginal price hikes for the 14th-gen Raptor Lake Refresh processors to their 13th-gen counterparts. Specifically, the Core i5-14600K costs about 4% more than the Core i5-13600K, which costs US$317.99 on Amazon. Similarly, the Core i5-14600KF is 2.5% more expensive than the Core i5-13600KF. The prices of the Core i7-14700K/KF and the Core i7-13700K/KF differ by about 9.5% and 6%, respectively.

Finally, the Core i9-14900KF appears to be 5% more expensive than the Core i9-13900KF.

The 14th-generation Raptor Lake Refresh CPUs will be priced similarly to their 13th-generation counterparts, with visible but insignificant price hikes. While there are noticeable price increases, they are manageable and not outrageous.

These prices reflect Intel’s commitment to improving performance while keeping CPUs affordable to many users. However, consider that these are preliminary leaks and that actual pricing details from Intel may differ when the CPUs are officially released. However, because Intel has yet to formally confirm the MSRPs of the 14th-generation processors, the actual pricing in both US$ and CAD may differ from those indicated.
